DOGGY'S DELIGHT

Mathias Witte-Riding is the friendly, welcoming and clearly knowledgeable owner of Doggy’s Delight in Eastcliff, Hermanus. He is originally from Germany and is a nurse by profession but a back injury forced him to alter his career path. This however gave him the opportunity to follow his life long passion of working with animals. Mathias studied at Fino Groomer Academy in Germany, qualifying as groomer, and learnt skills in tooth scaling as well as general care.

In 2008 he opened his own successful grooming parlour in Germany, and after his immigration to South Africa, in 2016 opened Doggy’s Delight in Hermanus grooming dogs and cats. Mathias now also offers ultrasonic tooth cleaning for dogs – an effective and safe way to care for dog’s teeth without the need for anaesthesia, and the results speak for themselves. Having a history in nursing, hygiene is of utmost importance to Mathias. 

For the ultrasonic tooth cleaning, each dog receives their own toothbrush which is then carefully sterilised and sealed, and stored until the next visit. Mathias works with a salon assistant, who helps him with the bathing, blow drying and nail clipping before he spends one-on-one time grooming the dogs. 

Mathias speaks highly of his loyal clients, many of whom have been with him for several years, and expresses his appreciation for their ongoing support. THE LAB

The Lab, located at Village Square, Marine Drive, Hermanus, came out on top in our Best Beauty & Wellness Business category. HERMANUS FACTORY SHOP

Hermanus Factory Shop (HFS) owned by Fransien Koegelenberg, opened its doors in September 1983. The popular double story store, located in Main Road, Hermanus, has expanded over the years and now sells a wide variety of items including dress fabrics, curtaining and upholstery, clothing, kitchenware, gifts and homeware such as bedding, ready-made curtains, rugs, cushions and more. 

HFS employs 13 staff members who are always ready and eager to help customers find exactly what they are looking for. Their curated selection of homeware products is fantastic whether you’re looking to refresh a room or find the perfect gift for someone.
